🦁 Meet Lena – the PWSAI Mascot! 🦁

After much discussion and voting, the members of SUAS have chosen a name for our new mascot…

Lena!

This name couldn’t be more fitting as PWSAI celebrates its 40th anniversary.

Forty years ago, a mother called Lena opened her sitting room door and invited a handful of families together. At a time when information was scarce and support was limited, those families found connection & understanding.

The name Lena is often associated with light, brightness and a shining torch.

That feels especially appropriate.

One sitting room became a national community.

One small group of families became an association supporting people with PWS and their families across Ireland.

As we celebrate 40 years of PWSAI, we’re proud that our mascot carries the name of the woman who helped light the way for so many.
