Options after secondary school for a person with Prader Willi Syndrome

On February 6th 2026, we hosted PWSAI’s first seminar on options after secondary school for people with PWS. We heard from professionals in the areas of further education, employment and New Directions (day services). We learned about the supports available to support a person with PWS to go into further education and a job.

Most importantly we heard from adults with Prader Willi Syndrome who shared their story on what happened to them after secondary school. A huge thank you to Martha, Richard, Danielle, Aoife and Bronagh for sharing their stories. This was a highlight of the day for everyone. This made

Going forward, PWSAI will continue to advocate for people with Prader Willi Syndrome to access meaningful employment, success in New Directions and supported further learning.

Planning early does not mean worrying early. We will be developing pathways, the what needs to be done and when, to support parents in helping to make decisions along with their child with PWS on what the next stage might be.
